Miramar User Administration
Miramar is extremely flexible
and lets the IT manager decide the level of permissions granted to any user on
the business network.
An ideal Backup software
solution should unload certain tasks from the IT department and clearly put the
burden on selected users. As an example, certain rights can be granted to users
to manage the backup or restore process of certain directories or files. At
SSI, we believe that a user should be able to restore his own files without
involving the IT department and that this process should be simple. However, we
understand that this decision is organization specific, this is why, the IT
administrator can specify from the administration console what screens will the
Miramar client display and what right will be granted for any given user.
If the administrator decides to create Miramar sync shared folders between users
in a virtual group specific rights can be extended for such common tasks as
adding files to the shared folder and what file types can be included or which
users can be added to the shared folder.
User administration comes with
a complete set of features including many options and restrictions. IP
restrictions can be easily programmed to ensure that Miramar clients are only
allowed to connect from certain IP ranges. Miramar allows users to login using
the credentials created in Active Directory as well as import into the
application relevant user data.
Recovering data needs to be manually started by the administrator by
initiating policy-based rules created automatically by the software or by
creating specific synchronization commands to get the data back from a storage
location.
The pricing of Miramar makes it possible for smaller businesses to benefit from
this technology
